Change vsync to use more idiomatic err != nil style.

The change to the "if err != nil" style doesn't change any
functionality.

I also noticed that syncService.cancelAdvSyncbase is set, but
never called.  Added a call in Close.

Vanadium

This repository contains a reference implementation of the Vanadium APIs.

Unlike the APIs in https://github.com/vanadium/go.v23, which promises to provide backward compatibility this repository makes no such promises.
